In Australia it is said that you don’t “know” the country until you have flown it.
Nothing could be truer. The incredibly beautiful and varied landscape that unfolds below you, the vast distances that cannot be covered easily by car and the many remote locations to which we are able to fly all add up to an experience that cannot be duplicated in any other way.
Australia has a well developed aviation infrastructure and a SAR system second to none. This adds up to a safe environment in which to fly, with procedures familiar to anyone conversant with ICAO standards. And it’s further backed up by our Lead Pilot who is with you from start to finish!
For travellers accustomed to busy airspaces, Australia is a breath of fresh air. Most of our stops are made at non-towered uncontrolled aerodromes. In fact, once away from the coast, most of the radio chatter you hear will be between your tour companions. See and be seen is the rule while in the Outback. And feel free to enjoy some low level flying in the desert, where you might see herds of wild horses or camels, or along the coast, where you might startle a saltwater crocodile basking in the sun.
Australia is truly a unique country and continent. Its variety is surprising and its ecology unseen elsewhere.
